Boating FAQ

All of our locations offer new Bentley pontoons with mercury 50-60 HP motors.

Our Island Water Sports boats all hold 1900lbs. Please be advised that we will deny access to the boat if your group is over the passenger limit or weight limits. Maximum of 12 passengers which does include small children.

Yes, all of our boats are equipped with Bluetooth capable radios. In rare cases an in dash unit may be out of service, if the in dash unit is down a portable unit will be provided for your group.

Yes, all rentals come with a complete set of safety equipment including: life jackets for adults, life jackets for kids (Island Water Sports’s does provide infant life jackets), sound device, anchor, swim ladder, map and trash bag. Please note*** There are no medical kits provided on vessels if injuries on the water please contact the coast guard immediately. If the accident if not worthy of coast guard attention when you return to the dock we have medical kits onsite.

Please call the location you departed from immediately so we can address and fix the issue as quickly as possible.

Yes, all rentals include a complete safety walkthrough. We provide each rental with a full service run down of the boat and the riding area prior to departure.

Yes, we can offer a captain but please be aware captains charge additional fees which can range anywhere between 25-35 dollars per hour. Our captains are local charter captains who are looking to fill up free time treating guest to an enjoyable experience on the water. They are independent contractors not associated with Big Daddy’s but are trusted captains within our community.

If you were born after January 1, 1988 Florida laws require you to possess proof of boater’s education along with a valid government ID. If you were born after this date please see our Temporary Florida Boaters test page. (LINK) If you were born before January 1, 1988 all that is required is a valid government issued ID.

All of our pontoons come equipped with wide entry side access doors making for easy entry from the dock onto the boat. (TIP: The Island Water Sports’s facility provides wheel chair accessible ramps down to the dock for even easier departures).

Yes, pets are allowed on our boats. We do ask that you try to keep pets off of the seats of the boat or bring a towel to cover the seats in which the pet will be sitting on.

Our boats come equipped with a small cooler but we recommend you bring your own as well. We work by the general rule of it’s your boat take whatever you want on it, outside of these restricted items: Tow Ropes, Towing Tubes, grills, any open flames.

No, due to high volumes of traffic and constantly changing tides our rental community as whole generally does not offer the opportunity for any renters to tube or ski behind the equipment. If you arrive with tow ropes and other equipment you will be denied the opportunity to take it on the vessel with you.
